As leaders in estuarine and coastal watershed science, CBNERR-VA educational programs promote natural-resource stewardship by translating coastal and marine science into engaging outreach opportunities. These initiatives connect local communities with estuarine research across CBNERR-VA’s four reserve components, including top tier monitoring programs with a focus on tracking changes in water quality, submerged aquatic vegetation, and coastal marshes. Our outreach efforts focus on improving place-based connections across the region and empowering the public to take an active role in protecting the Chesapeake Bay.
